Evolution Dismantled: Molecules to Man

The Search for Life
There has always been a persistent belief by evolutionists that there is some form of life to be discovered in space. After thoroughly examining 842 pounds of lunar rocks in a laboratory, collecting over 2,200 samples from six different space flights between 1969 and 1972, the mission to find traces of life on the moon was a failure and continues to offer very little hope for finding it today.1

The moon rock samples found at this time were so void of any microscopic life that the astronaut’s quarantine period was lifted. The moon which revolves around the Earth and is easily seen by us to help us chart seasons is vacant of any life and yet travels so close to our planet that, in contrast, flourishes with all manner of living forms, from microbes to giant whales. The Earth is a dynamic place with much geological activity, 70% water coverage, and a well-balanced atmosphere with exact proportions of 78.09% Nitrogen, 20.95% Oxygen, and about 1% trace amounts of gas. Lastly, the planet Earth is in the “Goldilocks Zone,” which refers to the exact right distance from the sun providing excellent conditions not only for life to exist but also for it to flourish. Life as we know it is fragile. Its requirements are specific, especially as the organism becomes more complex. The study of life, especially at the molecular level, demonstrates an ultra-superior complexity that has never been seen before. It goes against all logic and what we call pure science that life had its origins in a haphazard accident such as the Big Bang. To indoctrinate so many of our schools and present this as a scientific idea to the public through the liberal media is preposterous, dishonest, and deceptive. The only logical conclusion is that there had to be an all intelligent agent, a Creator in the form of Jesus Christ, that created planet Earth to be an extraordinary place to provide for its numerous varieties of life forms numbering over 11 million as an estimate.

Another close neighbor is the red planet, Mars, where many had hopes that life forms could exist in the past. The reddish color of this planet comes from the prevalent iron oxide on its surface. We have exhaustively studied Mars for many years by initiating 49 space missions that did investigative work concerning this planet, including actually examining the rocks and soil. Astrobiologists found with consensus that there is no chance life can be present on Mars because of the harsh conditions of ionizing radiation and toxic oxidizing chemicals on the surface of the planet. These conditions will present a challenge for future space exploration when astronauts land on this planet with such a toxic environment. Hopes of finding life on this red planet continue to decrease.

The astrogeology of Martian rocks reveals a false glimmer of hope for molecular evolutionists. NASA rovers explored these rocks with sophisticated diagnostic instrumentation and were also equipped with cameras that captured many pictures of the surface, giving us a good idea of what kind of terrain Mars exhibits and the rocky layers’ composition. To their surprise, at different locations, they not only found volcanic rocks, which they expected, but also sedimentary rocks, like sandstone, mudstone, shale, and conglomerates, which are similar to what we find here on Earth. These rocks are made of sediments that have been moved around and hardened predominately by water. Cross bedding on the rock layers was also discovered with horizontal layering, which suggests water being present on Mars at one time. The horizontal layering of rocks is beautifully demonstrated in the Southwestern part of the United States, where 40 different rock layers are displayed in the Grand Canyon. It was reported on December 4, 2020, by NASA Science, Share Science website that, “In what ultimately may be their most significant discovery yet, Mars’s scientists say high-resolution pictures showing layers of sedimentary rock paint a portrait of ancient Mars that long ago may have featured numerous lakes and shallow seas.” 2

When compared to Mars, the Earth is a dynamic planet with moving plates on its crust. Its exploding volcanoes emit tremendous amounts of energy equivalent to thousands of atomic bombs exploding in short periods of time. This explosive reaction assists in a process where rocks are changed continually. On the planet Mars, on the other hand, the environment appears to be stable and inactive. Not at all like the restless neighbor Earth’s interactive interior affecting its outer crust and releasing enormous amounts of energy. Mars’s scientists finally see some hope on this dead planet because they believe there were at one time lakes and shallow seas, indicating that Mars might have been geologically active like the Earth. Now it becomes easy to imagine that there was once some form of living organism swimming around in a different ancient environment in the past than the present Mars’ hostile environment. Evolutionists are always looking for traces of life everywhere because they have a false hope that chemicals themselves can produce some simple life form, and water is the magic ingredient to get this process going.

Myth: Where there is water, there is life. 
The big question is: Does water really give us hope for evolutionary life where molecules can assemble themselves into some kind of life form? The definition of abiogenesis assumes that nonliving matter can eventually organize itself from simple forms of life like a virus to a bacterium to human creatures like you and me over eons of time. This is one of the biggest myths that has ever been told on Earth, and yet it stubbornly persists even though it’s been dismissed scientifically over and over again. On the Earth, we know that water is essential for all life. No living organism can exist without it because of its intrinsic properties, like its fundamental ability to transport materials in and out of cells. A molecule of water is made from two very reactive elemental gasses, Hydrogen and Oxygen. When bonded together at a ratio of two Hydrogens and one Oxygen, these two reactive elements produce a stable molecule and beneficial resource. One of water’s crucial physical properties is its polarity, which means it is positively or negatively charged, particularly in its liquid state. This property gives the water molecule the ability to attract other particles like important reactive metals such as potassium and sodium which are extremely important for life’s functions. It is also sensitive to changes when other bodies interact with it such that it functions much like acid and alkaline. Because of these properties and so many more, water is essential to life, especially on Earth where liquid water is plentiful. Yes, water is essential for living systems, but it is not life itself.

As evolutionists search space in hopes of finding life, they falsely claim that the discovery of the presence of water gives hope of finding some extraterrestrial life forms. NASA and so many others have ambitious expectations hoping that under certain conditions chemicals can produce life forms. Still, this idea has been rejected again and again. Just as the Italian biologist Francesco Redi scientifically disproved through experimentation in 1668 that rotten flesh made maggots, we have come to the conclusion that life could only come from a Creator as stated in the Genesis Account. Louis Pasteur put the nail in the coffin of abiogenesis in 1859 when through careful experimentation, he discovered that no form of life would grow in a sterile environment, concluding that life can come only from life itself. Many attempted to synthesize life in the laboratory. The Miller Urey experiment that is mentioned in numerous biology textbooks produced amino acids that are used to make proteins from a hypothetical atmosphere. This experiment simulated lighting with mild sparks that, as we know today, could not exist with current data that scientists are aware of. This experiment was based on assumption after assumption that also produced the products formaldehyde and cyanide, which are destructive to many living systems we know of today. All the amino acids that were experimentally made were oriented in both directions, left- and right-handed. In living things, amino acids are all left-handed when they bond together to produce a protein.

The right-handed ones are useless and could even destroy the protein. This was a complete failure in abiogenesis but is still falsely lauded by evolutionists as a significant biological accomplishment for everyone to see.

In the last 80 years since the invention of the electron microscope, the knowledge of the invisible world of biomolecules has grown exponentially. Now we have a glimpse of how all living systems are so much more complicated than we could have ever even imagined. The biomolecules that make up life are elaborate in their structure and tend to be large. We know that every living form has DNA in it, which is very large in length, with genetic information coded on the molecule. This is the specific information needed to replicate the same form of life with a detailed encoded molecular message on the molecule. It has the genetic code to build structures of microscopic machines called proteins made of many different units called amino acids. The DNA molecule contains so much information that a single gram can store all the information that man has ever recorded in cyberspace or in physical libraries, equaling a container the size and weight of two pickup trucks. 3  

The DNA information system gives directions to make different kinds of proteins function in different tissue structures that are extremely important for its existence. One type of protein are enzymes, tiny molecule machines that assist in living systems like DNA polymerase that replicates and repairs DNA. Another kind of protein is designed to transport like hemoglobin. It is a large, specialized molecule folded in four sections to accommodate four iron atoms. This structure will allow the maximum amount of oxygen to be delivered to the cells needed for energy. Proteins like actin and myosin are designed for muscle contraction, an essential function for all muscles responsible for mobility. The heart is a critical muscle because it allows for the circulation of blood in our system. There are specialized proteins that make up the immune system, such as different types of antibodies. Still other proteins are designed to be hormones that are vital to many systems of the body, as exemplified in insulin that regulates glucose metabolism.  

These are just a few examples of how complex biomolecules are, both in design and function. They are part of a fine-tuned system filled with information to continue into the next generation and they fit into a remarkably fine-tuned operating system. To think that these systems of life came from abiogenesis is just foolishness. It is the foolishness that defies any reason and reflects madness as suggested in Ecclesiastes 10:13, “The words of his mouth begin with foolishness, And the end of his talk is raving madness.” The reason why abiogenesis is a persistent myth is because there are people who vehemently want to cancel God out of everyone’s sight.

They foolishly think they can void out an all-intelligent, all-powerful, ever-present divine Creator and Savior. He has left His fingerprints everywhere so man will experience Him even though His incredible creation is in bondage through the effects of sin. Even with the devastation and chaos of the cursed Earth and the filth of man’s evilness, we can see God’s workmanship.

Mathematical Challenges
Of course, when we face the enormous complexity of life and subject it to mathematics, it becomes a disaster. We know about the use of mathematics because we have seen two great scientists, Sir Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein, who will be remembered for changing the way we think of the world today using the tool of mathematics. It is at the fundamental level where objective science is anchored. When applied to DNA and proteins, we see a very high improbability of these ever happening by natural mechanisms.

Proteins that make up life comprise about 20 different amino acids out of about 500 that exist today. As described before, t-hey are giant molecules like hemoglobin made up of hundreds and thousands of amino acids precisely placed to make a three-dimensional shape. They have a directed function in a highly ordered system as more and more research reveal complexity in form and process in protein synthesis. If one used randomness to build these complex molecules, the probability numbers increase exponentially as one extends the chain. In other words, out of 20 different amino acids to make a single protein made of 150 amino acids would give a probability of 1 functional protein formed out of 1 X10195 that’s one followed by 195 zeros. It’s impossible! A practical example of this ever happening is like someone winning the lottery 24 times straight.

Many evolutionists believe that mutations, mistakes in the DNA code, will cause new species to evolve—this is one of the mechanisms taught to biology students in our schools today. Just like above, we need to put this to a mathematical test. How likely are mutations to produce new proteins for a new species? Protein molecules, for the most part, are three-dimensional. They are bent, folded, and twisted into shapes like a key that fits into a lock only with much greater precision on the molecular level. Douglas Axe, a molecular biologist, took up the research. In 2004, only one simple functional protein correctly folded out of roughly 1 followed by 74 zeros. In his own words, he wrote, “Unless this number was overturned somehow, a decisive blow had been dealt to the idea that proteins arose from accidental causes.”4 Even with the evolutionary time frame of billions of years, there would not be enough time to build a functional protein to be part of a cell.

The living world overwhelmingly demonstrates its array of kinds and forms with their uniqueness displaying so much depth of knowledge required to understand them. Science has revealed over the years their biochemical processes with fine-tuned chemical structures that function in such harmony that one should humble themselves and understand that there is a divine Creator who loves them. The planet we live on was designed for life. There is no way one can logically deny what the prophet Isaiah eloquently states,

“For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the Earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:18)   

Jesus is the Life
We know that Christ brings life to the world in both the physical and spiritual realms as it states, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” John 1:4. Christ is not only the life but also the light of the world.
