The Global Warming Beat Goes On

I think we should have known something was amiss with the way the latest apocalyptic disaster was being managed when “global warming” morphed into “climate change.” I don’t want to state the obvious, but doesn’t temperature fluctuate anyway? And what do you think caused these chicken littles to change their mantra? Could it have anything to do with the global cooling trend that has been ongoing since 2007?

Don’t take my word for this. I am referencing the Global Research Centre on Globalization and the statistical analysis by Don J. Easterbrook, Professor Emeritus of Geology at Western Washington University. Bellingham, WA. He is definitely not a “climate change denier,” or one of the devotees of the doom and gloom of climate change who this “denier” smear to shut down any possible debate.

Easterbrook has studied global climate change for five decades. He was chairman of the Geology Department at Western Washington University for 12 years. He is an active environmentalist, having initiated undergraduate and graduate programs in environmental geology at Western Washington University. What this scientist did was to make public his findings. Easterbrook gave a speech at the 2006 Geological Society of America annual meeting, in which he stated:

If the cycles continue as in the past, the current warm cycle should end soon and global temperatures should cool slightly until about 2035, then warm about 0.5°C from ~2035 to ~2065, and cool slightly until 2100. The total increase in global warming for the century should be ~0.3 °C, rather than the catastrophic warming of 3-6°C (4-11°F) predicted by the IPCC.

And this brings me to the point of this article. It seems that, pardon the pun, cooler heads may be prevailing with regard to the cataclysmic predictions of lethal climate change and what may transpire when the weather goes full-tilt evil on us all.
Thompson Reuters, a part of the progressive-leaning news agency Reuters, ran a story with the following ominous headline:

“Climate change threatens hearts, lungs but also brains: US study”

The author quoted everyone that means anything from the President Obama’s senior science advisor to the Surgeon General. All were warning of the dire consequences of fluctuating temperatures. Climate change also threatens mental health. This study listed posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and general anxiety as some examples of weather-related maladies people will suffer. All of them were linked to climate change, such as hurricanes and floods. And listen up all your grant writers, they called for more research into the area of assessing the risks of bad weather to mental health.

The article even listed the peer-reviewed studies by eight federal agencies that support their dire predictions. I cannot in good conscience fail to mention the incestuous shenanigans that play out with regard to the obscene amount of money available for those who seek to support this research. This is the result of Federal grants allotted for purpose of staving off this impending holocaust. That’s right; a virtual cornucopia of funding is available for those who can find more evidence that man-made climate change is lethal. By the way, these same groups tell us that, carbon dioxide, a natural gas, that is essential for the life and health of our planet, is really a poison. And please, none of this nonsense about it having to do with the amount of carbon dioxide that makes it dangerous. Small fluctuations in the level of the earth’s gases are insignificant. In fact, they seem to be perfectly balanced, fine-tuned to support both plants and animals. Warm weather has at least as many good side effects as bad ones, but you won’t be hearing about any of them from the climate change hucksters.
Why do I say this is a huge hoax, because the evidence for their horrific prognostications never materializes. Remember the predictions of Al Gore with regard to his crockumentary on climate change, “An Inconvenient Truth?’ He predicted artic summers would be ice-free by 2013. Well, at the end of 2013, and contrary to the alarmist “predictions” by Gore and what critics refer to as his “doomsday cult,” the latest satellite data show that Arctic ice cover has actually expanded 50 percent over 2012 levels. In fact, during October, sea-ice levels grew at the fastest pace since records began in 1979. Experts predict the expansion to continue in the years to come, leaving global-warming alarmists scrambling fiendishly for explanations to save face — and to revive the rapidly melting climate hysteria.

What became of the claims that the oceans would rise 20 feet wreaking havoc throughout the planet? Let me leave you with this bit of information concerning glacial shrinkage and the catastrophic rise in sea levels predicted concerning that trend. Artic is a website with much of its content written by Dr Bethan Davies from Royal Holloway, University of London. This institution has the lofty and noteworthy mission to become part of an ongoing commitment to education, outreach and impact. One of the articles, “Mapping the World’s Glaciers,” ended with the following bit of information.

There are about 198,000 glaciers in the world, covering 726,000 km2, and if they all melted, they would raise sea levels by about 405 mm.

Here is the sobering truth, even if every glacier on this planet were to melt simultaneously, it would only raise the sea level a total of 15.9449 inches, that’s a hair under a 1.3287 feet! Now, don’t’ misunderstand. Dr. Bethan Davies is a strong proponent of the dangers of manmade global warming, but I know what she is not telling us. The earth’s glaciers are not disappearing. If you cherry pick your data, then your conclusions will be skewed. Some glaciers are shrinking, some are growing. Moreover, there are other factors besides air temperature that can have an effect on glacial ice.

We are no longer in a warming trend, and that is not in dispute. The disagreement we have is whether human activities are dooming the planet. I tend to believe that man thinks more of himself than he ought. While the god of escrow seems to be controlling the way global warming science is being managed, men continue to profess themselves to be wise. By leaving God out of their worldview, they continue to promote their conclusions by couching them in scientific terms, but with many of them are educated fools and by God’s standards, they are fools nonetheless.
