Part-time: 15 – 25 hours, five days per week, in-house at the Creation Studies Museum. Including every other Saturday.

Salary Range: $20 – $26

Description and Purpose

The museum teacher candidate is a strong Christian with a scientific background. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the most fundamental attribute of this position. Since the ministry advocates for the literal six days of creation, it is most important that the candidate shares the same conviction. The museum teacher will teach workshops at the museum and field trip programs on and off-site. This includes light traveling. The museum teacher will also assist with museum tours and related activities. The candidate must have high energy and be able to operate with little supervision.

Responsibilities  

• Passionate for Christ and His Creation with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust.  
• Organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. 
• Present lessons comprehensively and use visual/audio means (PowerPoint) to facilitate learning. 
• Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments, etc.) 
• Maintain a tidy and orderly teaching area. 
• Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and leadership and participate in regular meetings. 
• Observe and understand students’ behavior and report suspicions of neglect, abuse, etc. 
• Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences, etc. 

Minimum Requirements 

• Proven experience as a teacher 
• Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the CSI policies and procedures  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Well-organized, detailed,  and committed 
• Creative and energetic 
• Strong moral values and discipline 
  • Degree in teaching or a specialized subject with a certificate in education or proven experience of over five years.
