See Rover Run

The latest space exploration pictures coming back from NASA’s Mars Rover Opportunity are nothing less than spectacular. Watching the NASA team jump for joy after a near-fatal glitch threatened to shut the probe down forever was the reason for their collective jubilance. Seeing that so much hard work and money were put into NASA’s search for answers, they cannot be faulted for their joyful response to bringing the Rover Opportunity back from brink of oblivion.

NASA scientists tell us that Opportunity has reached the main destination of its current two-year extended mission – an ancient fluid-carved valley incised on the inner slope of a vast crater’s rim. As the rover approached the upper end of “Perseverance Valley” in early May, images from its cameras began showing parts of the area in greater resolution than what can be seen in images taken from orbit above Mars.

“The science team is really jazzed at starting to see this area up close and looking for clues to help us distinguish among multiple hypotheses about how the valley formed,” said Opportunity Project Scientist Matt Golombek of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California.

More wild speculation passing for fact

The evolutionary timeline of the cosmos is based upon two things. (1) the Big Bang a.k.a. primordial singularity circa 13.8 billion years ago. This is a completely hypothetical origin of the known universe, and (2) the speed of light. The Big Bang is prevailing secular explanation pertaining to the origin of the universe. The speed of light in a vacuum is a constant 186,282 miles per This is the “c” in Einstein’s famous equation E = mc2 associated with his Theory of Relativity.
“I want the reader to understand that everything being promoted by secular scientists today concerning the origin of the universe is highly speculative.”

I want the reader to understand that everything being promoted by secular scientists today concerning the origin of the universe is highly speculative. If people were told the reasoning associated with this explanation, and they knew some facts that are not openly shared by evolutionary cosmologists, they would be extremely skeptical. What passes for “in the beginning” according the Big Bang postulates a time in the far distant past when the universe is described in terms of “infinite density.” This is a time when these scientists believe that all of the mass and space-time of the Universe condensed to one finite point sometimes referred to as the cosmic egg. The size of this super condensed matter at singularity is not certain. Some say it was the size of on half of a proton while others say it had no size at all. In either case, according to the known laws of the physical universe, the Big Bang is a miracle of the highest order.

Using uniformitarian principles, evolutionary cosmologists uses the speed of light to extrapolate back to the origin of the universe. This takes for granted that the speed of light is a constant.

When speculating about the age of the universe, most cosmologists and astrophysicists use this assumption as evidence of a 13.8-billion-year-old universe.

What is their explanation for how this could possible happen? They simply describe what is the classic definition of a miracle, e.g. the suspension of the physical laws such as turning water into wine, dividing the Red Sea, an iron axe head floating on water or raising people from the dead. These are all examples of miracles. These scientists surmise that during singularity, all known physical laws were either suspended or had not yet gone into effect. Either way, this sounds to me like the mother of all fudge-factors or a textbook example of a miracle.

As the story continues, quantum fluctuations caused it (the cosmic egg) to rapidly expand during the Big Bang with subsequent inflationary periods creating the present-day Universe. I refer to this as the “whoop, there it is” version of the Big Bang. One major problem with this model is that it cannot be observed and, until further notice, it is impossible to replicate. It also postulates a finite beginning of the universe. This does not sit well in the world of secular science, because it sounds too much like the biblical account of creation.

Water is everywhere. So far, scientists know of no living things, even the smallest microorganisms, that can live without liquid water. Until recently, Earth was the only place we thought had liquid water, but now we know of other places. (NASASpacePlace)

For this reason, practically every probe sent into space is equipped to find water. They were looking for water on the moon; they are looking for water on Mars. Venus has several moons as do many of the other planets in our own solar system.

These astronomers are scouring the universe looking for what has been come to be known as “Goldilocks Planets.” You have probably discerned why they have named these planets after that particular children’s story. In this story, there was one of the three bears whose bed was suitable to the size of our protagonist. Her name was Goldilocks.

There is evidence to support the idea that Mars once had running water. The telltale signs of wind and water erosion are clearly visible on the Martian surface. Opportunity is equipped to dig and retrieve samples from the Martian soil. They continue to be hopeful that during its two-year mission, they will find evidence of life on Mars. They even speculate that Martian life may have hitchhiked its way to Earth. From the evolutionary POV, that would make us all Martians.

Glasgow scientist slow the speed of light to 38 mph

We know that light from the sun takes only eight minutes to reach us, and it is some 93,000,000 miles away. What would happen if this constant turned out to be anything but? Scientists at the University of Glasgow have been able to slow light down to a mere 38 miles per hour. (Yirka, 2015) Almost all physicists agree that light going faster than the constant c is highly unlikely. What if the speed of light could move faster than 186, 282 miles per second? While this is highly speculative, it is no more “speculative” than saying that all the matter and space-time of the Universe could be condensed into a space that is less than one half of a proton.

While NASA continues to explore our solar system, they will never admit that there is absolutely no evidence that life exists on any other planet other than home sweet home. It appears that life is unique, not only in our solar system, but anywhere else. Do not let these speculators discourage you. Their story of a self-creating universe replete with self-creating organisms is nothing more than wishful thinking disguised as science.

At CSI, we are fascinated with these new pictures from the Rover Opportunity. We are glad that it is succeeding in its mission. That is because the heavens really do declare God’s glory, Psalm 19:1. What we do not approve of is the way NASA spins their findings to support their secular view of a creation without a Creator.
