What are the Problems with the Big Bang Theory?
The purpose of this paper is to present to the reader a foundation upon which to understand some of the basics of the Big Bang Theory. More specifically, it will be an attempt to describe in brief many of the major problems with the theory as well as define the terms used.
Big Bang or Big Fizzle
The Big Bang is the popularized version of evolutionary cosmology. It states that matter, energy, and space were all compressed many billions of times smaller than a proton and then exploded for some undetermined reason to create an expanding universe which continues to spread today.
The Affirmation of the Scripture
We believe the inerrant word of God clearly states that the entire cosmos, including all the matter and energy contained therein, was created in six days. We identify these days of creation as six 24-hour periods of time. God could have created everything instantaneously fully formed, but as many Bible scholars have indicated
Deep Time: Darwin’s Theory
Some people think that Darwin’s Theory of Evolution in 1859 set the stage for the millions-to-billions of years of time necessary for molecules to become men. They would be wrong. The seeds of “deep time” were sown a century earlier as geologists began to question the biblical timeline of 6,000-year history inferred in the biblical record.
The Sky is Falling, the Sky is Falling!
How often have we been told that this or that is an existential threat to life as we know it? I can count my fingers the cries of chicken littles masquerading as environmental experts screaming at the public that we are all going to die, and it is our own fault.
The Myth of Long Ages
We are told that the universe is 13.8 billion years old and the earth trails behind at 4.6 billion years. These are well-known, accepted scientific “facts.” They appear in all our science textbooks and are propagated in all forms of media with few exceptions. Young Earth Creationists (YEC) stand on the foundational Word of God, acknowledging a biblical time frame of several thousand years. These creationists are said to demonstrate the highest form of ignorance in many circles.

When seemingly lucid men and women of science place their faith in the creed of naturalism, anything that contradicts their beliefs must be disregarded or explained away. This is not just a passive attitude, but a very aggressive and pervasive mindset. Like the defense mechanism of psychological denial, it allows these disciples of Darwin to turn a blind eye to evidence that might contradict or even falsify their molecules-to-men worldview.
How Old is the Universe?
The fact of fiat creation has, as shown in the foregoing, been conclusively documented in Scripture, as has the fact that all of God’s work of creating and making was finished and completely functioning (pronounced “very good” by God) by the end of the six-day creation period described in chapter 1 of Genesis.
